Hydrographics - "Carbon Fiber Parts"

Hydrocoating will paint parts with a pattern according to the film you choose. I purchased a carbon fiber kit (DKA-CF-18-21) from http://www.mydipkit.com

There are many suppliers and patterns to choose from - check out YouTube and eBay. Ozark Hydrographics has a great selection of films. Many guns, crossbows, motorcycles, and car interior/exterior parts are "painted" this way.

Here's my first experience after watching the pros do it on YouTube with $5K tanks. Total cost for the kit was $99 and I still have 2/3 of the film remaining for other parts. The camera shots look like crap, because the flash kept coming on. The parts look like real Carbon Fiber in naturel light.

A G260 Zenoah Side Cover after coating. The tape allows the film to coat evenly around the part and is removed later.

There are many shops that will coat parts for $$$.

Has anyone else tried this at home?

Nice, did you coat it after dipping?
Please tell more about the process.
Thx.

Paul.
