Stripping a lexan body

I used brake fluid to strip the paint off this Yankee F1 body so that I could give it a new look :) . I soaked the blue towels in the brake fluid and stuck them to the sides of the body to keep the brake fluid in contact with the paint  . I had to let the brake fluid sit for about 5 hours before the paint started to lift. The acid brush was used to apply the brake fluid and scrape off the paint after it lifted. Paint thinner was used to do the clean up on the body. It took me almost two days to strip the three parts of the body. There was some hazing in spots so I removed it with a green scotch bright pad soaked with polishing compound. 8)

It took me a day to strip a RC10 body.Great tip to clean the haze. Why isn't there a paint removal for lexan paint? I used Dot 3 brake fluid. Dot 4 is suppose to be better.

some paint can be removed with less aggresive method, in Europe we have graffiti remover for plastic,

problem with DOT is that the lexan become breakable...

There is a product made just for this.

It's called ELO- Easy Lift Off- Most hobby shops have it. I have never used it, but the guys at my track use it a ton, and say it really works well.

They have painted a body, had some bleeds, and used ELO to strip the body back to nothing, started over, and you can't tell.
