Al Gibson's Funny Car #3 Moch-Up

Finishing up the frame and started moch-up for the engine placement. I am going to use an engine plate instead of the normal engine mount from the bottom. This car will have a 54cc Solo with a skellenger quick change rear end. I have to thank Tom at Santee welding here in Southern California. He is an amazing welder and he even puts up with all my "changes"!!

If anyone knows where i can get a 90cc or 110 cc Solo engine please let me know.

No, i got a partial chassis from e-bay, and have been working on it for a while now. The tires and wheels are from the chain car but just for moch-up. I have a set of John Foster tires and wheels when it is ready to go. I needed to check stance and length for the body to see if i need to make any additional changes. Al

I think we talked about this chassis, i believe it to be an unfinished Bob S chassis. I got it and a Solo 52 with zomie headers from e-bay (diamondgirl). It was in rough shape, needed to have welds cleaned up and i have been slowly adding to this chassis, mounting tabs, rear placement and now engine mounts. It's a fun project so far. Got to learn to weld!!!

I had the opportunity to hear and see these engines run when I visited pro street's club in Brooklyn where they race, let me tell you, they ring your ears, they are Fn beastly!

Just roughed out the windows and wheel holes. My first time to work with fiberglass, it was a little bit of a chore. Once i get this straight, i will make the window templates and drill the holes for the bolts.

Hey Al.
Did you leave enough of a lip to mount the windows? It looks real close. :|

Yes i think you are right. Looks like i will need some tabs on the inside to mount the windows. First time problems.
