I just love the detail compared to a 1:1 sprint car. This car is built so close to the real thing it's hard to believe. I have a sprint car suspension technology book, reading and checking out the pictures and set ups actually works with this car. I am learning more on the operation of the Jacob's Ladder now.

What set-ups do you use for dirt?

Al,
About 12 years ago I was asked by the Aussie mag, Radio Controlled Cars for Dirt and Track, to write an article on 1/4 scale sprint cars here in Australia. I was doing some research on both 1/4 and full scale cars and found this description of a Jacobs Ladder somewhere. I included it in the article.
" The rear end is held in place by radius and torsion arms as well as a Jacob's Ladder, or to be more precise...
a multi point, single plane, lateral locating device" WHEW!
There you go.... I bet you have never heard them called that, at any speedway you've attended.

Just got this is the mail today from the original owner. This driver came with the car when he bought it new in the 90's, and i think it adds a whole level of scale and realism. This thing is so real looking i keep checking under the engine for oil spots!

And yep Mike, it made it into the house!!

Update

I talked with Gary Delara today, he is doing well. He defiantly remembers building this car, said it was a one off car and cost a ton to build. I am so happy to verify the origin of this amazing piece of history.
