Hey Emilio,
haven't been here for a while. You did a great job.
I am a little sad because copper tubing for the brake line wasn't my idea... :-)

I was part way through my Gilmer project after putting to one side 4 years ago. I had fitted a Saito twin and a rear axle differential (but cant recall where it was from) and home made clutch. But there were too many things not going right - so I abandoned the project and have just come back to it.
Im now going for electric power I want the car to look as scale as possible so I am also part way fitting an Offy engine. - I have the motor and its controller and things started to look good with bench test without wheels. But now I have wheels fitted the amount of torque required burnt out the motor controller. So my plan now is to replace the rear axle differential with something like a Skellenger (but they are really expensive here in the UK) and fit the clutch. Does anyone know if a Skellenger would fit, and/or if there is an alternative.
Thanks

Hello, I never tried a skellenger, I used a 90 degree gear box with a chain and clutch system from a helicopter. I'm sure a skellenger rear would take some doing? Maybe contact member rc garge berlin I 'm sure he would know better. Can you post a photo of past and present?

I will reach out to the larger community about the skellenger. My aim was to keep it looking as realistic as possible, hence skellenger or similar. Here is pic taken today, not much to show, a lot of the other parts on the shelf.
Once I have the drive train sorted I'll post more pics. Hear is my plan for my Gilmer
Working steering from the steering wheel - already made.
Working gauges on the dash board.
Hide as much as possible of the electrics.
Add realistic engine sound system
Working outboard disks
Anything else I can think of in the meantime.

Your photos are not posted, make sure they are correct size and not to big. Anyway, I know that a member here was selling a quick change rear made by Gilmer himself for the Gilmer midget, might want to reach out to him. (Jay Hurrikane)

This layout never worked. See separate post for how it turned out.
