Mopar Motoring

Post by Dreambig »

Any MOPAR guys out there? I'm offering a 1970 GTX model for your consideration.

I have been sitting on this project for 6 years. My intent was to do a deeper drive with this model, scale detail wise, compared to the first version of this car I purchased from Ceyhun of MetalHobi. That was and is a GREAT car. I cosmetically modified that model with lights, actuating steering wheel, faux leather dash, carpet, iPod, etc and wanted to go to higher level of detail with that undeniable, every day, workhorse of a muscle car. That model now belongs to Cryo-Tec, another great guy. Below are two links to clips of me demonstrating the old car's functionality.

The detail offered in this model is nice. From the incredible amount of aluminum used to make bezels, hinges, light housings, shift knob, etc to the true to life scale functionality of the suspension, this would be a keeper if I had the time to finish it. What is included:

Full interior cabin enclosure - floor pan, fire wall, door skins, rear wall

Complete interior -
padded and covered dash
door skins
transmission tunnel cover
front and rear seats (front seats are mounted on brackets to allow for servo connection to the transmission)
red and/or black carpet and headliner material
windows
steering wheel

Electric driver and passenger windows

Fully enclosed trunk space

Front and Rear bumpers

Front grill mesh, emblem and support housing - Aluminum

Rear deck emblems and support housing - Aluminum

Front and rear light reflectors and housings - Aluminum

Parking light reflectors and housings - Aluminum

Side door, Hood and Trunk hinges

Gas cap - Aluminum

Functional passenger and driver door locks

Steel frame

Solid rear axle 5 link suspension

Shocks

Crager style wheels and caps, tires, hubs and caps

Additional set of front and rear custom hubs and brackets to hold hydraulic brakes

Complete 4 wheel hydraulic brake system (the transmission has a brake cam and disc installed at the output shaft and is very effective in stopping the car, I just wanted to kick it up a notch!)

3 speed forward with reverse transmission

All that is needed is the Honda GX25 mini 4-stroke engine, bell housing and fuel cell. I believe the engine and bell housing are still available. If so I will include it with the moel. I have an inquiry into Ceyhun about this at present.

I appreciate offers to trade however this is not one of those deals. The money will go into another project I'm nearing completion. Thank you. Reasonable offers considered. More pictures of everything detailed later today. Thanks.

Al,

The price is $4750. It was considerably higher but I have moved on. Lastly, Ceyhun made and shipped all the final necessary hardware mentioned above to fully assemble the model. The only thing needed is the 4 stroke engine and time. The 4 stroke is easy. It’s readily available on eBay. The time? Well, who knows.

... this car is sold. I just wanted to share a couple pics of it as it comes together. The final cost, with body work, paint, more custom parts and assembly was tad bit higher than the sales price. But the final result will be worth it.
