Which Pacesetter sprint car is this?

Post by Emilio »

Hey folks, I won this pacesetter on eBay but haven't received it yet, how many versions are there? We all know the midget one that has the similar body shape of the Gilmer, but what about these two, are they the same car or has the blue one been fused together with bondo? The one I won looks like the white one. Mine is a 3 piece body set. So in the end did Jeff make three different sprint cars or are there only two?

I'd like to know if hacking the body would be a no no, I'm looking to make a regular midget out of mine. Thanks for your input in advance.

Thanks Kaye, I'll have it tomorrow :D I'm pretty sure it's the one Jeff or the person is holding in this add.

Terrific find Emilio, great looking sprint car.
A great mate of mine, Bob Jeffreson, has 2 of them.

Emilio, I wouldn't hack it up and make a midget. Just saying. Restore it to what Jeff intended. In the 20 years I've been collecting pics off the 'net, only about 6 or so of that shape have come up. The top pic is Mike Casey's one, posted on QSL in Feb 2010. The next pic is the one Bentley Marshall found in New Zealand around the same time.

Hey folks, received the pacesetter yesterday and I must say, it is in almost brand new condition with hardly any run time on it, everything is here and looks complete except for the clutch, flywheel and spacers and of course the engine, which brings me to this, Ironically there was a brand new clutch on ebay and when I acquired for information the seller opt to sell me not only the clutch but also a flywheel, spacers and motor mounts with shims for perfect gearbox and engine alignment, all brand new!! I also posted photos of the clutch and engine mounts that should be here today.

The seller is an awesome guy, very friendly and helpful. I will post his Pacesetter sprint car and QRS truck, and for those who have never seen his cars you will be amazed at the work he does!!

Yes Kaye he has a few rare ones, one is a yamaha that I would love to have, did you notice in the same photo the picture hanging of him with Mario Andretii, Mario actually signed the dashboard on his pacesetter. Mike do you still have your Pacesetter?
