1/4 Jeron Ferrari Testa Rosa survivor

Post by Mike Casey »

This may or may not end up being a build thread. What it is, is a dedication to how awesome and unique Jeron Quarterscale cars were and still are.

This car kinda fell in my lap with some luck. Its the Jeron Ferrari TR. There are 3 very rare models that simply were never offered to the public until Jeron went out of business and sold all their assets. A lot of the parts and cars were spread out across the world. The Ferrari TR was going to be the first v12 powered car they were to offer. Retail was going to be over 30k!!! The development of the V12 lead them to bankruptcy.

3 Ferrari TR cars were produced. One completed model and two display cars for show. One polished, one not. This is the missing link as it has been in storage for quite some time. Very interesting car as seen in the photos.

Mike: I'd be talking to Luther about a V12 engine for this. You can't go wrong with this model car!

Wow Mike, nice project. One day I will build a body out of sheet metal by myself...
when I am old :-)
My grandfather was a blacksmith and used to built truck bodies out of sheet metal.

The Luther Engines are quite big. The V12 is 300mm Long, that are 11,8 Inch.
I have a CAD-file of the Luther V8. You could print it an see if it would fit.

Mike I highly recommend Michael when it comes to CAD and dimensions, he's been spot on during my Gilmer project which I'm in the final stretch of completion. But on a side note, you most likly are going to have for the most part a U-finish model which seems the case only by the photos you posted of your actual car. Anyway, if that's the case, here is a 1/4 scale model of the Ferrari TR built by a company (Big scale cars) if you need inspiration. This model sells for 30k and I think it's no longer available, if anyone hasn't yet seen this website check out their other models. Post is purely my opinion.

Michael, that would be great. That maxes out my 3d printer though. Do you have ability to split in half? My table is 10”.

I have seen that site. Great models. I fortunately have sourced some parts from past sources that I hope to have soon. If I didn’t sell my stash of stuff, this would have been easier.

the luther v12 looks to be a tight fit, but may be possible.

Size comparison for Conley. As you can see, the conley fits with the trans in there with room to spare. Looks kinda funny though. LOL. But also means that the v12 may fit as long as it looks proportionality correct.

You need the Ferrari engine, the Conley makes it look like the Cobra. That's not a bad thing. Love the door sill and panel.

Seconded!

When she's all done you'll have a piece that's RM Sotheby's quality.

My thoughts are v12 or no engine at all. The conley would just de value the model. I have 3 leads on a Jeron v12. I should have bought the damn thing when I had a chance years ago...
