Quarter Scale Pro Mod challenger

Post by Riccardit »

This is something I never did.
I'm building a 1/4 pro mod car from stratch, starting from the full tubular frame, axle, electronics, ecc..
It's planned to weight around 35-40 lb, 4 link sistem, torsion bar, rear go kart slick wheels, Wheelie Bar and not sure about the engine location, maybe it will be in the front.
The Shell will be a Pro Mod Challenger in aluminium, it will be very thin (around 0.04 inch) maybe fixed on the chassis with rivets.
The Chassis is planned to be 47 inch (without Wheelie Bar) length and 14.2 inch wide, made by lightweight iron tubes (0.4 inch depth).
All updates will be sent.

Looks like a solid start. What is your idea for a axel?

Thanks,
working on the axles will be quite challenging...
In the front area I planned to use homemade axle and join the suspensions with the rolling chassis.
The back area will be hard,
with 4 links / torsion bar welded on a 1/5 monster truck or on-road vehicle.
(Preferably in CNC or alluminium).
Someone knows where can I find rear end not in plastic for 1/4 scale?

Here's a link to a very good quick change rear end. These are well worth the money:

Yeah remember that site, It's very good for the quality, I was thinking also about QM parts and wheels, but the costs are very high :/
Btw for now I need to finish chassis and front axles

The thing is those rear ends are on sale at the moment. QM parts would be wonderful, but they're probably difficult to find, and as you point out quite expensive.

Looking forward to following the progress of your project.

Thanks man, I'm really satisfied for the chassis result. Now before sandblasting and the painting I need to do electronics, mount engine plate and arms, such a painful work :/
