Homebuilt Monster (Used to be Traktor)
This is what distracted me from that car in the other thread.
It started out as a motor bolted to a plate together with pieces from 2 toy RC cars and gradually evolved into a fully homebuilt car.
The only thing I didn't make myself is the flange for the sprocket which I had made up at a local engineering shop.

Re: Homebuilt Traktor
Some videos of it in action.
In most of these videos it's not being driven to its full capacity.

Re: Homebuilt Traktor
Thanks man.
Yeah I'm having heaps of fun with this.
Should be a pretty good machine I reckon.
More to come.

Re: Homebuilt Traktor
looks like its doing its job. That engine runs really good! Everything looks to spin really freely.

Re: Homebuilt Traktor
Hehe yeah the rear wheels spin a bit too freely almost.
Might have to look in to moving the engine back a bit.

No way, tyre spin is where the fun is at! :pDirty_Vinylpusher wrote:Hehe yeah the rear wheels spin a bit too freely almost.

Yeah sure, but grip is also good to have.....
Re: Homebuilt Traktor
I love the Homebuilt Traktor!!!
Have you thought about a body shell that would make MAX Proud?
A flat-Black tube frame with lots of petrol tanks, gas turbines, tire shields and chain link fencing for wind screen would look nice.
Here's a new one from MAD MAX 4 - FURY ROAD...Pretty SICK Looking Rat ROD!!!!

As tempting as it is I can't add that much weight to this car.c103110 wrote:I love the Homebuilt Traktor!!!

I might get a body for it at some stage but lots more to do first.
If I do it will be a plastic body off a toy car or something...
I am however planning a slightly larger project with a 55cc chainsaw motor, 10" wheels and welded frame and THAT might get a more solid Mad Max style body.
That motor is currently in my converted Razor Chopper, and with a gearing of 7:1 I'm having trouble keeping the front wheel on the ground at take-off, so it should be able to pull a 30+ kilo car no problem.....
I've given up on my other chainsaw build at the moment (See my other thread in this forum) as it's just way too many different components to put together and it will make my head explode.
It's probably do-able but at the moment it's way too much hassle...
We'll see.
I'm putting all my energy in to this car and quietly gathering bits for the big build as I go.
