New Era Cars and Trucks were all of tube frame construction. Engines ranged from a 23cc standard motor all the way to a monster 80cc Sachs motor! Some cars were belt driven but a majority of the cars and trucks had a very nice rear quickchange axle similar to the Seco Skellenger rear.

The origin of Jeron Quarter-scale Classics, Ltd began with a concept by Ron Phillips in 1980 to design and produce a series of radio-controlled quarter-scale cars based on certain vintage cars that especially appealed to him but were out of his reach.

Clark Adams of PBS is a master hobbyist and craftsman. His shop was a dealership for full size spec race cars. Clark decided he wanted to make a 1/4 scale version of the full size cars. He formed a mold for the body by hand and the next thing you know... he had a spec racer!

QRS was owned and operated by Jeff Schmidt. Jeff was the original founder of Pacesetter and made the first 1/4 scale RC car in the U.S.. In 1987, Jeff started QRS producing some of the best "FUN" 1/4 scale cars and trucks around. QRS was the first out with a monster truck and stadium truck.

Yankee cars were originally made with a "bathtub" style chassis. It was later realized that this caused the engine to overheat due to the lack of airflow. They then changed over to a flat aluminum chassis with a majority of its components made of plastic. Cars first came with a Yankee made 15cc "M15" motor, they then moved to a 22cc Kawasaki motor that had great power but hard to tune.

Pacesetter was started by an exceptionally talented pioneer of 1/4 scale named Jeff Schmidt. The first car was designed in 1979 and was his 60's style sprint car. This was the first quarter scale RC car ever put into production by anyone. Pacesetter was 3-4 years ahead of the competition contrary to how most people believe that Raco and WCM were the first!
