I dont know if somebody is still interested...but i have some news:
The project is going on...
Some details:
Chassie-plate length....................775 mm
Chassie-plate width......................250 mm
Height with wheels.......................405 mm (without body)
wheel diameter........................... 255 mm (10")
Wheel Base................................ 660 mm
Ground clearance....................... 142 mm
At the moment I prefer the Sandwich-Layout and I think it won´t change. Further i decided to build locked drive on both axles without diffs and classical single wheel suspension front and rear.

vectrex,
Thats pretty cool. Where would you pick up a mini quad? What are the dimensions of that mini bad boy? What size person could fit on one?

I like this idea, of chopping up a mini quad and using it for a rc truck, the only thing is, what is the weight of a 1/4 scale monster truck. are they even close in weight?? I was thinking of doing the same thing. I was on ebay checking them out, and shipped to my house is 350.00 so it's not bad.. the only thing is my wife will see it, and then wonder why did I buy it just to cut it up... but women will never understand a man and his dreams!!!!

i think the weight will come very close... even not that heavy when the mini quad is stripped down to the essential parts ... my 6 year old daughter fits it perfect !

Hi,
@qsl
hey Mike...thank you. In beginning of last year I had a DWA RAM for some month. the sandwich has several advantages.
Maybe we should try to get 2 threads out of this one.
When Vectrex is in progress with his project, he should write his news in this thread and I my in a new one. Is there a possibility to spread?
@Vectrex
cool, if we would do two projects. My with a car in new outfit with parts of a pocket ATV and yours which will be as close as possible (in usefull way)to a original ATV. That would be fine...what do you think?

Hi,
looking nice so far.
Is that a new era body?

You are so lucky!!!
How do you think about...should we spread this thread or use together? Your process seems to be effectively very faster than mine.
But I think you have some work front of you. you should replace the shock springs. Ask at
www.febrotec.de ...good service and cheap.
Cool thing.
