Knockoffs

I purchased some quick change hubs and didn’t like the washers that were used under the nut so I figured I would make some new ones. I started with some round stock and milled the profile I wanted. Then it was off to the lathe some facing and parting. I think I’m going to try to make Knockoffs spinners next. Does any one have one I can barrow?

Mike,
This is a fun and easy part to make.
Dominic,
I have 2 sets made up, I only need one

. PM your address and I’ll send you a set. I only ask that you post a picture of your car with them on it so I can see what they look like.

I had a little bit of material left over, not enough to make another set of washers so I omitted the chamfer on the face and parted off a smooth washer for use on the rear belt pulley

. I know, the pulleys a little beat but the part looks cool!

Nice work, love to see these type photos.
Curious are you using a end mill to bore the center hole?

Yes, I am using an end mill as a boring bar. They work great!
Well you know how it is, once you get started you just can’t stop

. I started with the 6 pin knockoff washers then the nuts, so the hubs seemed to be the next step. I wanted something that would fit on a Raco Indy car and the WCM won’t do that. This is what I came up with

. Now I need to make some 4 pin washers

. This is all done on a very old Southbend lathe. Just having FUN
