Quarterscalelegends.com for sale?

Possibly considering selling the website and domain. Asking price would be $4000. Any interest or comments? This would include the LRU address. The site would need to be moved to another server account as the account its on now is shared.

Funky, that's not the problem. The problem is that I think this site could be much more then it is. It needs someone that is willing to dedicate the time to keep adding to it and freshen it up. We get about 5000 unique visitors a month based on IP addresses and that's pretty impressive.
I just don't have it in my anymore to take it any further. I just feel its been neglected the past couple years.

I don't even think a freebie deal would work. I tried a pass it forward deal here once where you send someone something for free and then they offer something else for free to someone else... I think I shipped something to someone and it never went past that...
There is also still the main portion of the site with the history and pics. It would be nice to have someone go through all that and update / add.
Oh well, it was just a thought...

The fact remains that despite having almost 1000 members most of them have never posted once. In reality we have a handful (maybe 2 dozen) of hard core 1/4 scale enthusiasts here. I count myself amongst this 2 dozen, although even I haven't posted anything about any of my projects in quite a while, mostly because they've been stalled.

Just my 2 cents here 1/4 scale as I'm new to it has gone down hill . there is not the interest in it like there was. prices on the average 1/4 scale car has gone way down form the past. this in the past would have gone for more
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281122885960?ss ... 1423.l2649 Mike has been trying to sell some cars and some go and some do not. if you watch ebay they come on at $3000 and they keep going down to sell them. stopping poeple from seeing pics and banning poeple from here for not posting is ridiculous. how is this going to make 1/4 scale come back or for that matter stay a live. helping poeple out and supporting them will. for us new guys it's some times hard to find thing to get some of our projects going. I work away from home a lot on the pipe line going away till Xmas on sunday. not a lot of room in a camp room to build a 1/4 scale car so I will not working on mine, but by what I'm reading is I should be band for not doing any thing??? if you want 1/4 scale to survive you need to share the info the best we can or turn it off and watch the prices come down. this could be good then I could buy for less lol I just got this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271220698022?ss ... 1497.l2649 I will re do it but there is more $$$$ in the part than I paid for it. now look at this one it started at $2000
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 1057610719 If I was around for that I would have got it to. if you put some thing up for sale on ebay and start it at $1.00 and let it go, for what it sales for is what it is worth. prices have come why down and if you limet the access to this forum and the info on it, it will kill 1/4 and the prices will fall more . good for me not you who want to sell. this is also just my 2 cents so there is no need to beat me up over this. Oh and the only why 1/4 scale will make it is to keep the line of info open to all and help each other as we can. some poeple just do not like to post much but why dose it matter??
Like I have said just my 2 cents
and yes the very rare car will hold some of there value it's the common cars that are going down in price and this is because there is just no interest any more and there is not much out there to get the interest going. and now some want to stop what we have ?????

I agree with oldguy but I do see where you are coming from Funky. Who knows in a few years they may become super collectable again and start an all new mass of people interested in quarter scale. I think the more large scale cars are sold like losi's 1/5 scale cars and trucks that are somewhat cheep to purchase and fun to drive, will little by little bring in more people engulfed by the scale realism side of modeling. I do not believe 1/4 scale will never fully die out, because there are so many of us out there that are intrigued by small machines. That perhaps is just may hope but it is not a far off possibility.

I dont think the passion is gone, it's just that some people are not as passionate as others. I have had this conversation with various q scalers here in Australia and you cant expect everyone to be as passionate as ourselves. that's why some people travel to race and some don't.... passion and sometimes money!

My 2 cents.
Most 1/4 scale enthuisiasts have their collections of cars and parts and they are content with that.
Its very difficult to find anything worth buying these days even though they do exist in someones garage.
I have been looking for a straight low bar wcm sprint frame for ages you just dont find any and if you do them for unrealistic prices.
The recesion has bitten hard worldwide too. I have seen my income fizzle away to a 1/3 of what i was earning pre 2009.
just my 2 cents

I would like to say one more thing, if this cite goes down again it would be nice to get a little time to get some info of it. as last time it did it was panic mode for a lot of us that need this cite to help with are cars

information is key to keep any hobby alive my 2 cents anway

Site will not be shut down. Just trying to see if anyone out there has interest in taking it to the next level instead of keeping the status quo.

I would dearly love to post pictures of my 1/4 car projects on here every day of the week. Unfortunately I can't because my projects have been stalled. I haven't lost interest in them, I just haven't had the energy to work on them for a while.
About three weeks ago I had a little burst of energy and managed to spend a couple of hours on a GTP project; the progress is hardly worth documenting. Nevertheless it was a big step for me.

The Biggest Downfall of Quarter Scale

Quarter Scale Racing is the best type of racing there is .....the biggest downfall of quarter is the racers themselves. I was Racing in the Tri-State area for 3-4 years and I never saw so many old men fitting over little stuff in my life who did this and who was running that ...this was to be a fun hobby not NASCAR or WORLD OF OUTLAWS where we tech the crap out of the cars ....Lets face it most of us ran for points not money ...Ok maybe parts and some money ...but for the most part bragging rights and maybe our picture in a magazine somewhere ...The price of cars and parts well that is another thing. If you want people to enjoy the sport you have to make it affordable and the parts available ...even if the car is 20years old certain parts should be made with off the shelve parts that you can get in the local supply house..I have over $3k in my car is it competitive yes was it made by a major manufacture NO. Tthere are less the 25 of my cars out there but most of the parts were interchangeable with other manufactures. So with that being said ..YES there is a hope for Quarter Scale Cars to make a come back maybe not so much in a racing environment but as a true hobbyist where you can race these great works of art and not bend them up so bad ..kind like vintage car racing they do all across the country with the real deal. This would get more people involved and not have to listen to all that bickering at the track or at the club on who was illegal or not...Is this the same for all those hard core racers No and they will continue to bend cars up, but there is a place for quarter scale as works of mechanical marvels made by americans ...these are the best of the best of R/C cars and it a shame as to what is happening to this hobby. here are some pics of my car the same way I took it off the track nearly 20 years ago I just dusted it off.
