I have been into 1/4 scale cars for many years and have had some great transactions with many people on this site via eBay. My eBay user names are "bushvideo" and "wifesedsell". I now use the "wifesedsell" account for selling off some of my hobby items. My collection of quarter scale items is a big one and it is now time to sell off a few of my items.
The first item that will be showing up on the auction block is a 427 Conley powered Funny Car. Unlike some of the "427" Conleys that have been showing up on ebay, this is the real deal. There is a big difference in design between the first generation Conley and the 427. An easy way to spot the older Conley is that it has a large open area right under the intake manifold. Yes dirt can get right into the cam/lifter area should you drive one of these around. There is no gap between the intake and the block on a 427 and the 427 is a full roller bearing engine with a much stronger lower end.
There are a few photos of this Funny Car posted on this web site. Take a look under the Pacesetter section. The frame is red and the valve covers are black with the name Conley on the covers. The body is black and it says "The Collector" on the side.
Right now I am putting the Conley back together after a good internal cleaning and inspection. As of today 12/3/09 it will be a few weeks till I get the time to put it all back together...holidays and all that...but I want to give my friends on this site a "heads up" that this rare gem is for sale and I am open to offers. Sorry no trades as I am loaded way down with 1/4 scale goodies.
The car came to me exactly the way it is shown in the photos. It has the roadster style headers on it but I do have the kit to make the Zoomie headers and I want to have them on the car before it hits eBay around the beginning of next year.
My goal here is just to offer a heads up on the items I will be selling before they hit eBay.
Happy Holidays! Bill :D

I have had a lot going on in my life in the past year. A pending divorce, moving out, caring for my elderly father, ect, ect... :( Through times like that the hobbies get put on the back shelf. Other things have taken on more importance than my 1/4 scale stuff so it's time to let some things go. Lord knows I have a ton of goodies.
Rather have the cash than a basement full of cars right now. I would bet that in all of the years of buying on eBay and dealing with several members on this site, I must have well over $50,000.00 worth of stuff just collecting dust. The cars do look a whole heck of a lot nicer than numbers in a bank book and the way the dollar is taking a dump I would bet it's not a bad investment! Time will tell on that one.

I hear that. There are plenty of things in life much more important then 1/4 scale. To be honest, there have been a few times where I considered dumping it all. One day it may happen, you never know...
