i think he was refering to the extreme angle on the shafts. With the suspension movement, that will probably create some wierd vibration.
Also, it should be clarified that this is NOT a rebuild but a remake. Skellenger only produced 3 of these cars and they are all in my possesion.

No need to get upset, just want to clarify because it can look and sound misleading to people that do not know. Its cool copying something that was done, but we need to preserve the originals. You dont know what will happen with your car in the future and someone could see it here and think its an original when its a remake.
As you can see, "rebuild" is a very misleading word.
re·built \-ˈbilt\; re·build·ing
Date: 1537
transitive verb
1 a : to make extensive repairs to : reconstruct <rebuild a war-torn city> b : to restore to a previous state <rebuild inventories>
2 : to make extensive changes in : remodel <rebuild society>
"Remake" is much less misleading...
re·made \-ˈmād\; re·mak·ing
Date: circa 1635
: to make anew or in a different form
Just trying to keep you out of trouble...

I've looked at the pics of the real "Factory" SECO GTP cars and this project.
It's not hard to tell the difference ...why aren't the rear axles simply straight like the original cars? Is it something to do with the clutch area, looks like maybe the vintage cars have a smaller clutch assembly? Or is it in the rear suspension, maybe there were special rear arms or hubs used on the SECO's?
Well, if you're not going to drive it, it won't make any difference, but you've gone to so much trouble to re-create (the proper term, IMHO) one of these cars that I'd be re-measuring things to see if didn't miss something.
So close, but...

Keep up the progress pictures. This is a very interesting build/rebuild/fabrication/partial restoration/resto-custom/project.
Call it what you like, it's a sweet piece.
What are the inside diameters of those universal shafts you're using?
I 2nd that it looks great!!!!!!

Wooo-Hoooo!!!
Now THAT's looking more like it! The workmanship on this piece is exceptionally clean, and that's GREAT that you could simply just adjust the arms and get the shafts aligned perfectly.
Much better!!!

Ed,
Absolutely brilliant work. Thank you for posting up pictures and sharing your hard work and creativity. The car looks awesome.
IMO: if you read the post from the beginning it seems clear to me that this is not an original but a re-build/re-creation/re-re/whatever you want to call it. Seems like everyone is splitting hairs over nothing. Get's pretty serious in here sometimes. Can't we all just get along? If I remember correctly these are supposed to be fun, right?

I shall endeavor to be more forth coming in the future with proper disclosures and more succinct utilization of the language..... enough said. Thanks.

Thanks for clarifying for everyone.
Looks much better too now.

why does it need the flare on the end? Can we see what it threads in to.

I might be able to get m4 threaded fittings but you would need to change the tubing too. They would be the type of fitting that the tubing presses into and locks in. Might even be avalable in nickle plate. I will look tomorrow, its just that the flare end is wierd and for sure i cant get that. It looks like there is no reason for it. Probably just what was available at the time.

can you double check the thread? Here is one of my vendors. They have M3 and M5 of course. But this gives you an idea. I can look when i get to work if i can find M4 if thats what it is for sure...
