sounds like you first need to get or build a 1/4 scale drag car. get your hobby shop buddy geek-ed up to run his car go to a 1/10 drag get the other people checking them out and run them..
there are tons of people that dont even know about 1/4 scale when they see one they will want one..
i bet you can even bring it to a full size drag and im sure they will love them also.. thats a start on getting them exposed in your area..
good luck jason

Yeah, most of the time, the tenth-scale guys will let you run as long as you can show you have good control of the car (so as to not take out their expensive timing photocells). You might get in touch with Kip Scharf in San Antonio and ask him, he's the race director there.
The Q-scale cars generally like the clean, semi-sticky tenth scale 132-ft tracks (they run really great on sugar-water treated tracks like Paul's in Minnesota). Lanes feel a tad narrow sometimes, though... so stay up on the wheel, don't blink, and LIFT if the car even feels like it's going to make a weird move.
I've also run my car at a real drag strip ( a couple of times) but the track was super-VHT'd sticky and it just over-stuck the rear tires and it REALLY bogged the car down, you could hear it just slipping back through the clutch, it never really got going at all.

Hey Dragracer, The track in Houston "Gulf Coast RC Drag Racing" will let you run your Q/S car as much as you want. I've ran there a few times with my funnycar.

ther are no free plans. and no one will give them to you.. many have asked none have go them
i have been a member scene 2006 and i cant get any...
like i said take a 1/24 1/25 model. and measure it out x it by 25 or 25 depending on what scale and then divide by 4 and you'll be real close..

I've been through this...Your best bet is to find a 1/16 scale model and simply scale it up x4 or 5. You can still find them on ebay.....
