Items are still avaiable. I thought I would get reasionable offers for these rare items on this laregescale site. I guessed wrong. I see Skellenger rear ends are going for $700-$1000+ and the ring and pinon set were going for $300+. :o MY items are brand new never used. :D My items are worth more than the lowball offers I recieved. I would rather keep them than give them away.

A Skellenger is worth more because of what it stands for, an the workmanship.New Era is a copy of the H&L quick change rear. That was made out in Sanger Ca. That is my opinion You could always use e-bay
Thanks Ed

The New Era used the same gears as the Skellenger and the rear end was stronger. The only Problems with the skellengers were: the ring clamp would break and the housings self destructed on the change gear end (the gears would blow out the back). So New Era improved this problem. So if the only difference is the LOOK? Then the price should reflect a little. NOT A LOT!!! New Era was the Last to make A QC rear end and they didnt make many.

I suggest you keep it then. I have bought skellengers for $500 before. There is no way in hell I'll pay more than that for a New Era. I dont care if they use the same gears. Raco's have the same gears that have not been machined yet. You dont see raco gear boxes selling for as much as a Skellenger. When you buy a Skellenger you are buying a piece of art. There is no rear end that can come close to the craftsmanship of one.
As far as low ball offers, I suggest you keep the rear if its worth so much to you. If you wanted to sell it you should have just come up with a price. But instead you want to come on here and get pissy and whine about someone not offering you enough for it. We did'nt ask you to post it here. If you did'nt like the offers then put it on ebay. I personally dont want to here complaining about someone low balling you because you thought you had something you could make a bunch of money off of.............

I agree, a new era rear is worth in the $400-$500 range. No more. Skellenger gets more because its an exact replica of full size rear ends like the winters rear and halibrand. It was also manufactured using a investment casting process that is much more expensive then a sand cast like the new era.
Have all you guys looked at the Skellenger section on the site. I uploaded pics of the one and only M1 magneseum skellenger!!!

also wanted to add that people buying the gears on ebay just dont know the hobby very well. Like you guys said above, the Raco rear ends sell for $50-$100 and they have the same ring an pinion in them. The pinion needs to be turned on a lathe but the ring gear will slip right in. Sometimes Raco used a press fit ring gear and other times they used the same machined skellenger one. Either will fit in the skellenger, New era or H&L rear.
Lastly the new era rear was an exact copy of the H&L rear. New era used to buy them from him and then had the design copied just like the rest of the stuff they built.

Thanks QSL you set my price range exactly!!! This is what I expected NOT for everything I have. The skellenger change gears are worth $50 a set. I have 7 with a gear rack new unused. :D . I was open to reasionable offers for everything  not Lowball offers.
QSL:As far as the Raco gearbox goes my fiend has a raco and the big gear is not as you described? It looks like a steel spool found in a Tmaxx Raco had two style diffs (as listed in the upgrads) in the manual.

There were 2 different Diffs made. One from Raco europe and one from PBS. The one from europe used thrust washers and the PBS one had gears in it. PBS did not really sell them and just used them in team cars. The european one is real common and will work in the RACO or skellenger one usually. You can tell if it has a small groove in the housing. If it does, it will work in the skellenger too. If not, its made for the raco only, but can be modified easily.

Gentleman, do you still have available a Skellenger rear end. I understand that you originaly were speaking about a New Era however will you advise what is available? It appears that everyone has a different veiw on what these products are worth, my simple rule is, if you dont like the price, dont buy it. If the buy and seller have a good outcome then that is the right price. Regards Glen
