Raco Jack Rabbit

Hello All

My name is Dom and I just picked up a Raco Jack Rabbit man this thing is sweet I am debating to seel or keep it and I guess the replies I get here will be the determining factor.

Its a clean car how ever it is mising the exhaust side dog bone and the body I will only keep it if I can find these two items
Is there a aftermarket or a guy making these bodies on the side? Id like to build a sprint car out of it so would want the stock front body and a tail section made up(I can fab my own wing )

I am including some pics of the raco and my 1/4 pro 1 I love the site

Hi Dom--As far as the body goes if you could borrow one you could take a mold off it. The rear tail section will be a problem as the Jackrabbitt has the 2 rear bars extending from the top roll ball whereas the sprint car didn't have these which made it easy to make a rear section. Hope this helps. I am restoring a sprint car and need a wing and the side exhaust if you hear of anyone who has these. Thanks Bill.

Thanks for the info Bill I found a Lexan 1/4 scale body on ebay the guy says it will fit the Raco as for the wing not to worried I can build that I still need a Dog bone .

Let me run this buy yall My wife works for a hi-tech machine shop they only make parts for GE for there Nuclerar and medical fields. I am thinking of having them (friends with the boss) make arms , shock mounts etc.... for these old Racos and marketing them under my name Resurrected R/C Would yall buy em I just spoke with my wife tonight and she is going to get me a lot quote from her boss tomorrow this will dictate price . But I am thinking alittle north of $200.00 for a set of front arms made out of 6061 aluminum and anodized.

So what do yall think

You and I exchanged a few emails on Ebay..lol
You should keep this baby and restore her.
These Jac-Rabbits may not perform like all the new 1/5 scale HPI's but they have something about them. Once you get bit by the Jac-Rabbit bug, you will want more.... Just ask Dominick on this site...lol I once thought I had a problem with buying lots of Raco Jac-Rabbit stuff until I saw his posts.
I cannot hold a candle to him.
He posted some of his collection, you need to see it.
Also I just went to a vacuum forming business close by me to have Raco Jac-Rabbit bodies made. I am still waiting on the final quote, but it looks like it will be cost prohibitive in any quantity under 200. I don't think I will pull the trigger on more than 200 pieces.

yea After doing some research I think I am just gonna sell it I have my other toys and the money can go towards my Pro 1 Racing Sprint car I want, see my 5B I built and My Pro 1 Nascar
