O'Neill Brother Engines
Re: O'Neill Brother Engines
I know a bunch of guys that loved the engines back when they made marine engines they swore by them and said customer service was top notch.
as for the car / truck motors I would assume that care and technologies would be past down to those engines.
I am currently saving up to get an O'Neil engine. Just keep in mind do not go for the biggest most expensive motor they have because those engines are made for high HP but lack in the RPM. Do some homework they have spec sheets for most of the motors on the site.
(following part is mostly my opinion)
If you are doing on road cars I would look at the 22 - 27 cc range.
Baja 5B would be like 23 - 29 cc (depending on use road, dirt, sand or what not)
Big trucks 27 cc and up

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together.

Hey guy's I along with a few other racers use O'Neill Bro. Racing Zenoah's engines in our quarter scale drag cars. They are great engine builders and their customer service is outstanding. Call Dan or Sean and tell them what you are going to do with the engine and they will help you select the right power plant. if you want to see some of our cars in action in which all are powered by O'Neill engines check out the vids posted on IMDRA.
By the way I have a O'Neill modded 27.2 long rod engine that I will be putting up for sale soon.

Re: O'Neill Brother Engines
Hey, Rey.... Good to see you on here!
Rey is one of the top RC drag racers who run the 132-ft tracks with the tenth-scale guys, so they run lightweight cars that accelerate really hard out of the gate. Somewhere, I think there's a photo of Rey's ProStock doing a bumper-dragging wheelstand! So, if they choose the O'Neil motors, I'd say that was a big vote of confidence in their performance!
Rey.. please post links to a few of the better Q-scale videos so we don't have to wade through all the tenth scale ones.
When is Mark Price gonna break down and get a BIG BOY car, LOL!!!?

Re: O'Neill Brother Engines
Mike , thank you for your kind words. As always you are a true gentleman. I thanks to you in part have gone a little nuts with these quarter scales. I built a altered and just recently a dragster to compete with. We are having a blast running these big cars at the track. Hope you come out and join us soon. There is going to be a big quarter scale presence at the Midwest Nationals in Aug. I have to take the time to learn how to post the pics and video I have soon.
