1/4 scale driver

Post by oldschoolmidget »

Hello Guys,
You will not find a better 1/4 scale driver than these. The quality and detail is outstanding. They are designed and made by Ren at RD Enterprises. Go to his web site www.premierpilots.net. I've posted his flier. The price is about 100.00 dollars depending on the clothing apparel and extras. I would post more pic's but my files are way to big. Tell him Anthony from San Jose sent you.
Thanks, Oldschoolmidget

Wow.
Now, I wonder if the Simpson-type miniature racing helmets would work with these guys?

They look cool, but at what point do you cross the line from having a tough, expensive RC car to a barbie car? :D

LOL!!!

Yeah, It's hard enough justifying my fascination with toy cars... but toy cars with DOLLS in 'em?.... errrr...I don't think I could put up much defense for that chiding.

Hello Guys,
Being that this site is called Quarterscalelegend, the more detail to these models, the more realistic they look, the more you guys drool. So why not a driver?? That's funny, I don't ever recall seeing a full scale car racing on a track with out a driver. So why would you knock that?? It is to 1/4 scale and with great detail. Made in the USA.

Not knocking it. I agree, if done right can look pretty cool. Just poking fun at our hobby. :D

Yes, those are really excellent, high-quality, life-like figures. No question about that.

What QSL said: We're poking fun at ourselves, not those scale pilot figures.

I think these little guys are great! By the way I'm having more fun with my 1/4 scale cars and 1/5 and 1/4 rc bikes than I ever did with my 1/1 collector car :)

Hello Funky,
Yes, all body joints unplug. You will have to unplug at the knees and trim the back side of the thigh and lower butt. Then tuck the pant legs back under the thigh and butt.
I found that I needed to trim those parts to sink the driver deeper in the seat.

Oldschool,
Yes, I also much thank you for the tip. Been in touch with Ren and ordered 2 pilot/drivers for some up-coming vintage 1/4 scale sprintcar projects that are about to commence.

Those guys would look cool inside those raco cars. Might have to look into one of these. It would give it realism. 8)

My 2 pilots come drivers arrived this week. The quality is fantastic. Ren at RD Enterprises was extremely helpful in working around the fact that I was purchasing these guys as drivers and not pilots... that I didn't need a parachute, headsets etc.... and compensated accordingly. The dude in the leather jacket and sunglasses is way too cool according to my wife. She immediately named him James Dean. His leather jacket is leather, has a fully functional zipper and a flap that covers it and a stand-up collar. It's fully lined...again my wife just shook her head in amazement! Then I showed her the sunglasses! Her reaction this time was an expletive!!!...
I also purchased from Ren a fully functional 4 point seat belt. I'm looking to change the colour of the suit on the other guy amd try and make it look more like a drivers suit. That's the only colour it comes in.
Here are the guys just hanging around, waiting for their cars to be ready.

Kevin,
These models from Ren are a hoot. They come with belts and watches and goggles and hats and sunlasses....there's probably more.....fantastic! I going to try and build a old style metal helmet for the dude in the jacket. His ride is the Pacesetter.
However the closest that guy with the checkered hat will get to what you suggested, is getting his bum in a COORS Light #11 WCM Sprintcar. I need to get his suit blue though!!!
