Oscar, good to see ya here!
Mike ogle does not live in CA anymore. He has been in the world of RC forever and did many articles on the scale back in the day. He cant promote something on someone elses show especially if it has nothing to do with the topic. Sure they did a drag racing episode, but no 1/4 scale guys were there and where the heck are they going to tell people where to buy?
Oscar, I think the biggest problem you will have is supply. If it was easy to find a drag car and easy to get parts, it would be much easier to get people involved. What we need is some manufacturers!!
Oh yea, mike ogle already has a new mustang 1/4 scale body that he makes and sells, so if anyone needs one, he is the man.

long live 1/4 drags
hey Ed, I going to talk to Mike Smith this weekend and take over the 1/4 scale drags racing for MHRA , I would say because of bracket racing rules are open, car count is where it's at right now, no heads up class racing until the car counts grows, if you where around during the old days out in Palm springs CA. in 97 and 98 you'll see why I'm pushing 1/4 drags so hard.
As for cars ,M.K. Pacesetter sold 100's of these cars I was tolded only a hand full where crashed and fixed at pacesetter tons of them where raced, so where did they all go?? basements?? attics?? storages??? I have a clue!!! because off pacesetter selling his bizz, and New Era doing whatever, and local tracks closing and hobby shops like Big boy toys who stocked these car,Mark Addams and Bill Cain (R.I.P.) who made parts
there was nowhere to for help. Thank god for the internet, the evil-net will bring back these cars, matter whats wrong with them, you stillcan buy rear ends, new style quick change by all new pacesetter, rearend and front end ,body parts old style rear ends ,chassis jig. and Larry Cross make a neat and fast prostock car www.quarterscalemtrsports.com there's also a guy making prostock and promod car I'll post his link later

Hey blkracer, sounds like your on the right track. I would love to come out there for that 1000.00 to win event. Not for the money, but to be around other quarter scale drag racing gearheads. Do you have a time table for the opening of the track? And speaking of the DIY spot, has anyone talked to the people that run R.O.D.S about a bracket class for quarter scale at there national events?

hey Mike, love your web site, well as for the new track I won't know anything til this weekend my friend Larry cross of QSMS is putting up the funds for the track, they all went out of town last weekend to race, I'll post his reponse on sunday. are you still making those promod or prostock chassis????
Looks like i got the ball rolling. Oscar here is my number 1-508-567-1777 we discuss things over the phone or i can call you.
Mike If i wanted to put names on the net i could have and you know it.As far as the Mustang funny car body. I know as well as Mike it is not a true mustang. It is a generic body that can look like 1 of 3 bodies.I still have the pics of his body still in the foam stage before glassing. We talked about if it should be glass or lexan ask him.I know he does not live in Ca.Should i put his name out here without seeing if it ok.
Mike we should talk on the phone. I could address some of your points but it is better to leave it off here. Here won't help the hobby or promote it.By trying to see who knows more or not

Why would Mike Ogle have a problem mentioning his name? He is all over the net. He is very well known all over the world and not to mention one of the nicest guys out there in the hobby. He is real big on the drag scene.
The WCM controversy was that they introduced the first left side belt drive car. This car was illegal according to QSAC rules becuase of the belt being on the side. The other manufacturers did not like this one bit because it lowered the price of cars by quite a bit. WCM knew this car was illegal but they also knew if they made a bunch of them and sold them that people would show up at the track with them and QSAC would be forced to let them race. Well thats what happened.... after that other manufacturers were forced to remove their more expensive drivetrains and replace them with belts.
When QSAC legalized these cars it created quite the uproar and it was determined that manufacturers were not to be on the QSAC board anymore which later on I believe led to manufacturers closing down.
On the drag racing issue....
We REALLY need a full blown real manufacturer to build cars and parts. This is the only way for this hobby to really come back like it was back in the day. Back then QSAC required you to have atleast 50 cars built, ready for sale to be considered a manufacturer. We need someone that will be a stable supplier. I am not down talking the smaller guys here, they are why this hobby has stayed alive, but for it to grow to the size it used to be we need someone to invest some big money.
Oscar, I also want to tell you that I really respect what you are doing, I think its great and I would like to work with you on what I can. Bracket racing is for sure the way to go. That is the way for EVERYONE to have fun. Heck you could even bring out your jacrabbit!! I think it would be sweet to make a cheap chassis for these 32 ford bodies and have a "old school" drag series.

Hey Ed call when you can pal.. 951 3674015 oscar
QSM prostock car truly a nice but, they need to be lower in price by about 200 bucks although there only a fraction of a pacesetter or new era, I think because it lacks the detail of a roll bar car , people will get a little turned off when it sits next to a new era or a pacesetter car. the regular guy wont see that the QSM car when crashed is about 45 min fix, not a hole new chassis type of fix.. way to go guys, QSM gets an A+ for this project and I hope they sell a ton ..

Hello all I'll use my real name as a log in. The discussion on what happened to quarter scale hit the last nerve i had about QSAC I was a member fir 15 years and in my opinion what happened to 1/4 scale is politics QSAC and QSAC West they couldn't agree on rules, QSAC West would change rules and implement then in the middle of the race year. The real race car issue is the manufactures of RACO John Rea and PRC (precision Race Cars) Lance Love on the west coast were treated like second class citizens just before they either sold out (RACO) or closed up (PRC) in disgust and quit the hobby and i don't blame them I was there and saw most of it with my own 2 eyes. I have seen more people driven away from 1/4 scale because of the treatment of new people by seasoned vetrans (term used loosly) yelling at them for a mistake on the track during OPEN PRACTICE before a race. I finally had enough and I quit a hobby i throughly loved and enjoyed, It's a shame that 1/4 scale went the way it did. I can give anyone a list of at least 60 people in california alone that quit for the same reasons. Yes Mike this si the Bill that you and Lance came over and picked up the 1/6 scale wheels. Sorry guys but that is the real storey as i saw it.
