Hmm, thats interesting. Its not too different. I always chuckle when I look at that car. You really gotta wonder what they were thinking and those shocks
I forgot about the gearbox, I have plenty. Email me your address and would you be willing to trade it for one of those rear wings? I will scan a pic of I have of the front wing so you can see what you need to make.

Sounds like a plan. The front shocks are also different than the one you have. Mine has a arm mounted to the upper a frame and then the shock mounts vertical in the center of the nose. I'll get a pic of it later on here. Do you have word on the aluminum gear cases yet?
I will e-mail you my address for the gear case. The wings I have are far from perfect. But I am going to make a few of them so send me a pic of what you have of the front wing and I'll get to work on the rear ones.

Cool. I have a few new raco front and rear wings but they dont look anything really like ones that are suposed to be on the car. I want it to look as original as possible as I am sure you do too.
As far as the Aluminum PBS gearboxes go. I have sets of them but they have not been machined yet. Skellenger did the machining on them originally when PBS was unable to do them. I was trying to find steve skellenger to see if he had the program and fixtures but he is hard to find :D PBS is still around and they can machine them. I gave him a set the end of last year but he has been too busy to do much with it programming wise. Soooooo I am just waiting. I dont want to spend too much on them because I dont think too many people will buy them. When they do get finished, probably only about 10 sets or so will be sold and I wont make them again. I cant risk leaving the tooling at a foundry again.
I will scan some pics tonight of the car that I have with the wings on it.

Yea, I want 2 sets too :D I dont know what they will cost. The casting process was pretty cheap so the big cost will be in the machining. Plus I would like to give some money to PBS because he really gave me the molds, I did not pay for them.

Mike, if all you need is machining, I may be able to help. What do you have to go by? What I mean is if you get me a raw casting how can the machinist figure out what or how to machine the pieces. Machine work around my area is not really expensive compared to other parts of the country. I took a skellenger to a few guys around here and they said they could do them reasonable except for the casting itself. No body around here does casting. So if you have the castings I might can help. Let me know.

Thats interesting looking. Does it look like someone welded in those arms to the shocks or do you think it came that way. Pretty cool car you have, that will be a fun one to fix up. Do you have the tuned pipe and driver for it too?
The machining for the gearboxes would probably not be so bad. The expensive part is really the jigs and like I told you, i am not really interested in spending that much on that project. PBS will do it when he gets some free time, he would be best because he designed the rear and knows what to do. All the faces need to be machined including all areas where bearings go.
Here are a couple pics I have. I thought I had a better one of the front wing, but from looking at it close it looks like its just probably a thick piece of plastic??

Yea, it really does'nt look like an air foil. The shock set-up is original I would say because the frame has not been tampered with in that area. I do have the pipe and the driver for the car. I am going to make a mold of the driver figure and possibly one of the bodies to do another one or two. The thing about this car is it would be so simple to build a bunch of them as long as you had the gear boxes. Everything on the car can easily be duplicated. I also got a really nice set of skellenger knock-offs with the car.
I can't wait till the guy at PBS has time to machine the cases. I would love to have one on this car :D

I just found this post while doing a google serch on Race Tech indy cars.
For some reason the pictures in the post are not coming up, possibly due to the age of the original post. Anyway from what I read I think I am the orginal owner of the car in question.
I ran the car with the Dominos body at the Las Vegas race one year and in the process of running the race I managed to totaly destroy the front end. If I remember correctly I did manage to finish fourth in the main that day. Afterwards I sent the chassis to Fran at New Era who cut off the front end of the Race Tech car and weldeed on a front end from one of his cars.
Shortly after that I taded the car to a fellow in the Seattle area for a sailboat.
The original rear wing that was on the car when I traded it was signed by Arie Lyundek (sp_ who was at a car show in Denver where I had a display of the 1/4 scale cars.
While the car was sold by the person in VA it was actually made my A&E down south.
