Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
Someone requested some information on these cars and since I dont have time to work on a page dedicated to it, I thought I would throw these up in hopes of helping out.
Gary Delara lived the dream that most every quarterscale manufacturer dreamed of. Having a huge corporation like Edelbrock produce quarterscale cars under their name and using their blister packs for parts and even giving Gary a space to work out of in one of the Edelbrock facilities.

One incredible piece of work, thanks for posting this
Re: Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
Again,,,I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate this. There is mention of an assembly instruction manual that came with the car originally. If someone had this and could scan into pdf or other format, it would be totally awesome. Since I own one of these, I really want to collect as much of the original documents that I can. If there are any more pics, of any kind, don't hesitate to post them. I still would love to see them and even make contact with other owners of this classic car.
Re: Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
Did Edelbrock source their chassis from WCM? I have a sprint car with the exact (from what I can tell from the pics) chassis. It actually looks very similar except mine doesn't have the pitman arm coming out by the driver and the nerfs are a little different. It does have the quick change rear and the torsion suspension though. I was thinking mine is a WCM? Any sprint car experts out there?
Re: Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
Here are a few pics of the sprint. Will soon be completely restored. Anybody have any idea of the manufacturer? Without the pitman arm I don't think it is a Delara. I am thinking WCM or Quickdraw. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
DJ
Thanks,
DJ

Thanks Mike, someone told me Quickdraw but I know nothing about that company so I wasn't sure. Anybody else have any ideas?

Re: Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
I believe that is a WCM as I have one that looks just like it. WCM mounted the nurf bars with a screw through the frame instead of using cups.
Also the tail is mounted with the screws going through the frame instead of using the cup type system.
Hope this helps.

Re: Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
The car looks like a coulpe of cars put together. The jacobs ladder is not Eldebrock. The shocks are 1/0th scale. They could be Eldebrock or Auto Engineering.Since the early cars had 10th scale shocks.Rear Rims are a drop center WCM.Front Eldebrock and the knock-offs too.Hood looks like a Quick Draw.
Just my 2 cents.

Hello Guys,
Yes, I agree. That's not a Delara. Ed, I'm glad to see you back on the board.
You do awesome work.

Re: Edelbrock Delara Sprint car
Thanks guys for the input. I was thinking WCM just hadn't seen one with the quickchange rear. All of the old references I could find for the wcm had a chain drive. I will post pics once I get around to the restore.
