Has anybody ever have to rebuild or work on the guts of a TF. I just received my Yankee 596 and whoever had it before me has taken it apart and put back together numerous times to the point that the phillips screws are almost stripped out. The problem that I am having is when i first plugged it in it had hardly any movement and was making a "crunchy" sound which is why I decided to take it apart and from what I can tell there isn't any stripped gears but it does look like the the wires to the rheostat have been resoldered on and there has also been a new servo wire soldered on to the board. I have no experience with this type of servo being this is my first large scale car and, is it normal for the servo to be very slow? It also works like a momentary switch where as to go full lock left you have to hold the TX to the left until it reaches that point and it will not re-center on it's own. This doesn't seem like it is correct and my thoughts are that the rheostat has gone bad making it where the servo doesn't know where the rack is located.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Question about TurnForce Servo
from an electronics point of view, i think that maybe the controller board could have a fault. especially if it has been re-soldered and the unit itself has been taken apart a number of times. can you take a couple of pictures of the circuit?
As for the gears, have you looked at the bearings?
When putting it all back together maybe wire the top down so that it is secure.
regards
Steve

Re: Question about TurnForce Servo
Hello, Turn Force is really special servo, normaly it is a old product about 1993.
I think it is useful to revise your TF.
I repar it, but it is necessery to send it to France.
If the electronic parts is available, just I change one composant and the electric motor.
It is not expensive and I can do it fast.
You can send me directly a mail at : yankeeshop@gmail.fr
